The American Sommelier Arturaola assures that wines from Castilla-La Mancha can triumph on the global market

This at a tasting session organized by the Castilla-La Mancha IPEX, which filled the room to capacity

If on the first day of FENAVIN 2009, the American Sommelier Charlie Arturaola showed us his enthusiasm for white wines from Castilla-La Mancha, on this second day of the National Trade Fair on Wine, the American has directed a tasting session during which wines from Castilla-La Mancha in tune with the global trends have been tasted, which has been organized by the Castilla-La Mancha IPEX (Institute for Foreign Promotion) and that has filled the tasting room to the brim given its great interest.

Arturaola tasted and versed on 6 wines, which have triumphed on the international market, such as: Vega Córcoles from Bodegas Lahoz (La Mancha Denomination of Origin); Marqués de Toledo from Bodegas Lozano (La Mancha Denomination of Origin); Vidal del Saz from Bodegas del Saz (La Mancha Denomination of Origin); Aljibes Cabernet Franc 2006 from Bodegas Los Aljibes (Vino de la Tierra de Castilla); Tres Patas from Bodegas Capony (Méntrida Denomination of Origin); and Dujet from Bodegas y Viñedos Tornero (Vino de la Tierra de Castilla).

These are wines that the North American Sommelier chose of his own free will, following the current tastes of consumers around the world, "without being influenced neither by the Autonomous Government nor the wineries, because I work in Florida and I spend half the year traveling the world in order to understand the wine that people like, as well as to understand the wine from Castilla-La Mancha, trying-out wines for the insurance company that I work for". The rest of the year he is a Professor of Wine in Florida (United States).

Arturaola finds that what is happening in the Community of Castilla-La Mancha is very interesting, where "many of its wines surprise us with their quality and good price".

FENAVIN has programmed tasting sessions and food pairing sessions for which it will count with the knowledge and professionalism of the Institute for Foreign Promotion (IPEX), the Project 'Better with Wine', the Association Grandes Pagos of Spain, Caja Rural de Ciudad Real and the Alicante Wines Denomination of Origin.
