The Award Ceremony for the 1st Window Dressing Contest has taken place today at the National Trade Fair on Wine, FENAVIN 2007, which closes its doors this afternoon in Ciudad Real. The Ciudad Real Provincial Government in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and the CEOE-CEPYME has organized the contest; the same aimed at Ciudad Real's commercial sector, independently of the activity.
Nemesio de Lara, President of the Provincial Government and of FENAVIN, ha been in charge of presenting the awards, in turn expressing his satisfaction that a trade fair on wine, instigated by the wine activity, directly or indirectly contributes with other added benefits. "We are very pleased that there are other economic and social elements in the capital and region that are also benefiting from this activity", he said.
The winner of 1st prize was "Lumober Telas", store located at calle Pozo Dulce, for its ingenious way of combining the product they sell with the object theme of the contest, composing both background and form; and likewise to the attention paid to lighting and color and because of its conceptual simplicity and clarity.
The runner-up was "Quesos El Valle", located at calle Palma, for their enhancement of the object of the contest in its typical and traditional aspects, apart from undertaking the customs, and likewise because of the painstaking and detailed elaboration of their setting.
The 3rd prize went to "Optica Momo", located at calle Paloma, for their vanguard, modern and minimalist approach, manifested in the forms, background, color and light, presenting a traditional theme in the most risqué of manners.
Two consolation prizes have also been awarded, the first to "Optica Optiman", located at calle General Aguilera, for the sensitivity and subtlety of their idea, displayed in a simple and clear manner. The second consolation prize to "Antigüedades y Subastas Alarcos", located at calle Obispo Estenaga, for their educational, historic and artistic value and because of the ingeniousness and interest of the displayed elements.
Ángel Amador, Vice President of the Provincial Government and Institutional Coordinator o the Trade Fair, has been in charge of reading the jury's verdict, jury made up by specialists in design, interior design, window dressing, set-design and photography, integrated by Luis Morales Rodríguez, Vicente Sánchez-Migallón, Raquel Zurita Fernández and Isaías Martín-Peñasco Díaz. Diverse aspects have been taken into account in their decisions, such as diffusion of information and inclusion of the entity's anagram in all the publicity material, as well as commercial and artistic criteria such as originality, quality, innovation, lighting and design.
The theme for decoration was specified in the contest's guidelines, which corresponded to the world of wine and enology, and the stores were free to choose any material and decorative element that they considered adequate.
