"I truly hope that during this visit you will discover the extraordinary potential of the wines of the province of Ciudad Real so that we will be able to enjoy greater importance in Spanish exports to Mexico". With these words the President of the Provincial Government of Ciudad Real, Nemesio de Lara, welcomed the Mexican delegation this Monday morning at the Provincial Palace Auditorium, delegation that will be holding business meetings until Thursday with nineteen wineries from the province of Ciudad Real that were already exhibited during the past edition of FENAVIN.

De Lara, who was accompanied by the trade fair's Institutional Coordinator Ángel Amador; Juan Antonio León Triviño, President of the Ciudad Real Chamber of Trade and Commerce - an institution that collaborates with the organization in the optimization of international commercial contacts -, and Manuel Juliá, Director of FENAVIN, reminded the members of the delegation that "the wine in this area has the best quality/price ratio to be found on the Spanish market".

Hence, until this upcoming Thursday, the fifteen Mexican importers and distributors will be in search of wines that are adequate for the preferences of Central American consumers from among these nineteen Ciudad Real wineries. It is precisely FENAVIN's Delegate in Mexico, Agustín Domínquez, who underlined that there are a growing number of wineries from the province of Ciudad Real and the region of Castilla-La Mancha already on the Mexican market and that the Central American market is a young market, under full expansion, reason why he heralds many possibilities for the wines from this area.

During the event Nemesio de Lara also mentioned the trade fair organization's recognition of Pedro Fernando Poncelis, sommelier of the President Intercontinental Hotel in Mexico City, who was unable to personally collect his award 'A Life Dedicated to Wine'.

The country's most important importers and distributors make up the Mexican delegation, which was unable to visit Ciudad Real during the past edition of FENAVIN, fully immersed, as it was at the time in the H1N1 pandemic.

These entrepreneurs will now enjoy the possibility of contacting with nineteen wineries, which were already present at the past edition of the National Trade Fair on Wine: Bernal García Chicote; Bodegas Montalvo Wilmot/SAT Soto de la Toledana; Bodegas Centro Españolas; Bodegas Fernando Castro; Bodegas López Mercier; Bodegas Naranjo; Bodegas Navarro López; Bodegas Real; Bodegas Romero de Ávila Salcedo; Bodegas Casalobos; Encomienda de Cervera; Explotaciones y Desarrollo El Bernardo/Bodegas Lahoz; Hermanos Mateo Higuera; Pago Casa del Blanco; SAT 3753 Coloman; Vinícola de Castilla; Miguel Calatayud, Vinos y Bodegas and Viña Obdulia.

This Tuesday a fabulous exhibition and tasting session of the participating wines is foreseen in one of the capital's great hotels, which will include the possibility of holding personalized meetings between wineries and importers. These will be able to thus complete the first impressions obtained of the wines with a visit to the facilities of those wineries that agree to the same on the upcoming Wednesday.
