The recently certified Association of Producers of Grape Musts and Grape Juices of Castilla-La Mancha (Azumancha) will be holding its Executive Committee at FENAVIN, the National Trade Fair on Wine, to be celebrated in Ciudad Real from May 10th to the 12th at the Trade Fair Pavilion. The committee will be taking place on May 11th as of 1:00 p.m. in Lecture Hall 2, the same with a very clear objective: to inform on grape musts and juices and to make the association and the development of promotional formulas for commercialization of grape juices that are produced for the final consumer known to all.

Apart from Azumancha's Executive Committee's President, Román Cantarero, of the winery Vinos y Bodegas SA, the committee will also be formed by; Francisco González, of Mostinsa SA, First Vice President; Bernardo Navarro, of Gardovial SL, Second Vice President; and as members: Juan Ramón Lozano of Conuva SA; Gregorio Ruiz, of José García Carrión SA; José Jimeno, of B. Mendieta SL; Luis Huertas, of Movialsa SA; Javier Ramón Ruiz, of Coop. Cristo de la Vega; Tomás Fernández, of Coop. Nuestra Señora del Rosario; and Juan Robles, of Bodegas Unidas de la Mancha SL, along with Manuel Civera, of Auster Consultores SL, in his capacity as the Association's Secretary.

During the meeting Azumancha's Executive Committee will be analyzing the current situation of our sector and the degree of execution carried out in that pertaining to the association's activities.

Nemesio de Lara Underlines the National Importance of Azumancha

FENAVIN's President, Nemesio de Lara, has underlined that five million hectoliters of grape must have been produced in Spain during the past 2010/11 campaign, of which eighty percent (four million) have been produced in Castilla-La Mancha, with which "AZUMANCHA" is the organization with the greatest sector representation in this product at a national level and there is no doubt that the association had to be present at the main European Trade Fair,".

Román Cantarero: In Search of Promotional Formulas for Commercialization of Grape Juices

As Román Cantarero, the association's President, has explained "participation at FENAVIN is among the main actions that Azumancha is to carry out in this year 2011, as it will be setting up a stand with information about grape musts and juices, where it will also inform on development of the promotional formulas for commercialization of grape juices produced for the final consumer."

Azumancha, which was certified as an association in the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha on December 13th of 2010, wants to take advantage of its participation at FENAVIN in order to make the association known at its corporate stand and to prepare its coming out in society, so to say.

"We have achieved this recognition thanks to the support that our project received from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, as the report issued by the IVICAM (Institute of the Vine and Wine), as well as the proposal made by the Directorate General for Rural Development, were both necessary," explained Azumancha's President.

This association saw the light with the goal of defending the interests of the grape must and grape juice sector. In this sense one of its first actions was to register the association as a legitimate lobby before the European Commission. "This is the first Spanish action aimed in this direction," Cantarero added.
