Tool of great interest that can be consulted at the numerous interactive posts to be found in the Virgilio and Hesiodo Pavilions, at the Business Center and in the Wine Gallery

Wine purchasers visiting FENAVIN 2007 have an extraordinary tool available so that their work will be much easier: the 'Business Search Engine - accessible both through the trade fair's web site, as well as from the computers that are distributed throughout the Fair Grounds' different pavilions. This tool will allow all those interested in purchasing wine to make a precise selection of their objectives. At the halfway point of the trade fair, about 2000 purchasers and professionals have already made use of this service during the first two days.

Angel Sánchez from Acevymás, S.L. is precisely one of the national purchasers who decided to use this tool this morning, commenting that it has been very useful, allowing him to place and find what he was looking for, given that his company is interested in purchasing wines from the Ribera del Duero area, etc.

The only thing that those accessing the Searcher have to do is choose between a series of criteria to launch a thorough search through the numerous wines that are on display at FENAVIN 2007. All the exhibitor wineries count with a complete index card in the Business Searcher, in which the location of their stand can be found, along with a list of the products they commercialize, including commercial details as important as their target countries for exporting or the distribution channels they are targeting.

However, the purchaser can in fact select all types of searches with this complete tool. Thus for example, a distinction between different types of products can be requested: wines, cavas, grape musts, related distilled products, vinegars or organic wines.

Selective information can also be obtained about different indications of origin (denominations of origin, wines from Vino de la Tierra, 'Pago' wines, Table wines). The different exhibitors can be grouped together in accordance to a diversity of criteria, upon the choice of the user of the Business Searcher, and always with complete information about each winery: technical information, processed products, details and commercial information.

The experience acquired in past years has indicated the predominating tendencies in the use that professional wine purchasers make of the Business Searcher. One of the most highly employed criterions is the grape variety, which is not surprising considering that variety is precisely one of the main factors involved in the decision to buy Spanish wines abroad. Thus the Business Searcher allows distinguishing between red and white grapes and between numerous varieties included in each one of the two categories.

Criteria of a commercial type is also highly used, specifically the exhibitors' target sales countries and target distribution channels, as well as hypermarkets, Horeca, specialized stores, small convenience stores, delicatessen stores…

This year the Business Searcher at FENAVIN has evolved even more in two senses. Added to the potentials already mentioned - which along with the Wine Gallery represented a great help for the work of the purchasers that visited the previous editions - two more are to be included. On the one hand, the Business Search Engine can be consulted 'live' while FENAVIN 2007 is actually taking place. This is the reason why computers have been distributed in the different pavilions, at strategic locations and at the full disposal of the purchasers so they can directly access the Searcher.

On the other hand the index cards that result from the searches will include the location of each winery's wines in the Wine Gallery. In this manner the purchaser who has just arrived at the trade fair can optimize their time by previously selecting the objectives, obtaining complete information about each one of the wineries and even having tasted the wines they are interested in before even visiting the corresponding stands. Once again FENAVIN proves its commitment to organize a trade fair that is absolutely and purely aimed at business.
