A medium-high quality product with a very well presented brand image
This morning the commented wine tasting session corresponding to wines from the Can Bonastre Winery, in Penedés, has taken place, the same included in the program of activities.
This is a young winery, founded in 1996, and this is the first time that it has been presented at the National Trade Fair on Wine, the same at stand A7 located in the ENEO Pavilion. Although this is their first fair, the winery was quite aware of the importance of the event, given that as commented by its Commercial Director, Germán Rubiales, "last year we were in fact waiting in the wings so to say", studying the importance of the show.
Three have been the wines they have presented and included in the tasting session, 2003 Pinot Noir; 2004 Crianza Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Cabernet-Franc and a young 2006 Chardonnay Xarel-lo. Altogether, these wines can be defined as medium-high quality and with a very modern image that is well-presented, quite unusual in comparison to traditional Penedés wines.
Germán Rubiales has also explained that what the winery pretends with these wines and their presentation, apart from offering a quality wine at reasonable prices (standing between 9, 12 and 17 Euros for Crianza, white and Pinot Noir, respectively), is to "make the importer fall in love with the daring and modern design. Part of the design in which the back label also acquires importance, indicating that somewhat more than the traditional information has been included." Not in vain the label's design obtained the Gold Medal in the past Vinitaly, which took place in Verona from last March 29th to April 2nd.
