The Agrarian Young Farmers' Association (ASAJA) of Castilla-La Mancha will be celebrating a sector conference within the frame of FENAVIN 2007, National Trade Fair on Wine, that will take place from May 7th to the 10th at the Ciudad Real Trade Fair Pavilion.

Amongst other matters, during the meeting the subject of the Common Market Organization (CMO) will be dealt with, apart from negotiations taking place on the part of the Ministry for Agriculture with representatives from the European Commission.

Representatives from all of Castilla-La Mancha's ASAJA provinces will be participating in the conference and the National President, Pedro Barato, will be present, along with the Regional President, Fernando Villena.

The Provincial Secretary in Ciudad Real, Florencio Rodríguez, comments, "we must remember that currently Ciudad Real is the province in Spain with the greatest wine-growing surface and production. The vineyard in our region exercises a social economic activity that is of vital importance to maintain our villages".

"During this year and almost with absolute certainty, although pending approval of the CMO reform, which will finally take place during the second half of the year, a series of pertinent works are already underway with the aim of conserving the future of this Common Market Organization. Thus the reason why ASAJA has decided to present a preview of the path that this reform will definitively take, the same within the frame of the international wine fair and on top of that in our province", the Provincial Secretary explains.

From its very beginnings ASAJA has trusted in the development and organization of the trade fair, contributing year after year with its participation in conferences, assemblies and meetings and logically inviting the representatives from cooperatives and wineries from all over the country so they will also visit the trade fair.

ASAJA is also in charge of organizing the round table "Wine and Sports, a healthy exercise", likewise within the frame of FENAVIN 2007, moderator of which will be Pedro Barato, National President of ASAJA. The round table will count with the participation of José Antonio Abellán, Sports Director for the radio station COPE; Paco García Caridad, Sports Director for Radio Marca; Iñaki Cano, Sports Director of Onda Cero's program 'Al Primer Toque' and former football players Rafael Martín Vázquez and Fernando Hierro.
